Taking on a little “green” spirit for the month of March!  This green drink is a winner on all fronts – gut soother, heart helper and immune booster.  Enjoy this fresh smoothie as the days get warmer!

Here is what you will need to toss in the blender…

  • 1 cup of water
  • 1 cup of broccoli sprouts
  • 1/2 frozen banana
  • 1 cup spinach
  • 1/2 cup frozen pineapple chunks
  • 1 tbsp flaxseed meal
  • 1 tsp maca root powder
  • 1 tbsp cocoa powder
  • 1 Medjool date
  • 1 scoop protein powder
  • 1/4 tsp vanilla extract

**If you wish you can add ice to this smoothie for a more frozen texture.  You can also swap the water for almond milk!

This recipe contains 36G of Carbohydrates – if you want to tone it down, omit one of the fruits, and 20G of protein and 10G fat, not to mention over 8G of fibre!!!
