At this point everyone knows that yogurt makes your gut happy, as it is full of probiotics, this good bacteria will reduce bloating and ward off the bad bugs. In addition to making your gut happy, yogurt is a dopamine promoter. Dopamine is a neurotransmitter that affects the reward and pleasure centres in the brain. Try this yogurt recipe to start your day, and get your happy on!
Here is what you need
½ cup frozen diced strawberries
¾ cup plain Greek or Skyr low fat yogurt (coconut Greek yogurt is an alternative for dairy free)
1 tbsp chia seeds (or Holy Crap cereal)
1 tsp almond butter (freshly ground tastes great!)
Here is what to do
Place the yogurt in a serving bowl, heat the strawberries until warm and soft and pour on top of the yogurt, top with the chia seeds and almond butter, mix and serve. If you are on the run… place all ingredients in a container – by the time you eat the mixture, the berries will thaw and all the flavours will blend.
