In continuing to pay tribute to the colour green, our meal in minutes, you guessed it green!

1. MCC Alkaline Broth

The first is not so much a meal, but a great tea alternative especially if you are looking for an inexpensive warm, immune boosting drink.  It’s called MCC Alkaline Broth.  During a cleanse this is a must for our patients: it’s a hot liquid with a huge health reward. IMG_2391

How to Make:

In a pot, place three cups of any combination of these power greens: kale, spinach, parsley, celery, zucchini   – I personally like 1 cup of each kale, parsley and zucchini.  Add to the pot 1.5 cups of water and cook until the mixture reaches a boil.  Allow to boil for 3 minutes.  Separate the water from the veggies.  The water is your drinking broth and your veggies are great for another meal – try adding the veggies to the recipe of the month: eggs from the garden.

2. Green Monster Smoothie

The second meal in minutes is a complete meal.  It is our popular Green monster Smoothie.  At MCC we love smoothies, especially when we take it up a notch with some nutrition boosters:

Put all the following ingredients in a blender and blend!  1 large orange, peeled and segmented, 1/2 of a large banana, cut into chunks , 6 large strawberries , 2 cups spinach , 1/2 cup plain Greek yogurt (I use Liberte 0%) , 1 cup ice.  Top with Chai seeds for added fibre, protein and nutrition punch!
